What Is the Award all about?
The Rural Youth Skill Development Program The Center for Rural Youth Entrepreneurship and Environmental Development, with assistance from the Federal Government, organizes RYSA. UNCDF, UNIDO, and EU serve as financial partners.

With the goals of creating income-earning possibilities, quelling young restlessness, discouraging rural-urban drift, and boosting the local economy, the initiative is aimed to bring skill development programs to the rural youth population. The target youth population is made up of young people from rural communities in Nigeria who are native-born and in need of basic business start-up skills.

The RYSA program contains the following two training components:

1. The hands-on, practical training: In order for program participants to flourish in their chosen businesses, they must be trained in additional practical skills. Master Trainers chosen from various communities around the nation will carve out this training.

2. The Community Business School (CBS) training is a requirement for all RYSA beneficiaries, and it must be completed once per week for a total of twelve weeks during the practical/hands-on training programs. The goal of the program is to provide participants with the business and life skills necessary for their success.

Who is Eligible? > To be eligible for the programme, interested applicants must enroll and pass the competence exam in their selected skill area.

Before the presentation of the Start-up Packs, beneficiaries must finish the Refresher/CBS training.

Successful Beneficiaries are required to participate in the Center for Rural Youth Entrepreneurship and Environmental Development’s mentorship programme.

Requirements for RYSA Nigeria eligibility
Candidates must satisfy the following requirements in order to be considered;

Must be between the ages of eighteen (18) and thirty-five (35) years. First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) or above is required. Must have some familiarity with any of the above businesses or endeavors and have expressed interest in the RYSA programme. Be eager to pick up new abilities in the targeted field that will aid in expanding his or her own business following the training programme.
What is the Award’s Value?
1. A monthly allowance

During their 6 (six) months of training with RYSA, programme participants will earn a minimum monthly stipend of N50,000.

2. Startup-Packs

Startup-packs for the RYSA Nigeria initiative include: Work Tool Seed Funding
At the conclusion of the programme, participants will get equipment called “Work Tools” that they may use to launch their own business. As new employers of labor, the Seed Grant supports their endeavors.
