About RYSA Nigeria

The Rural Youth Skill Development Program The Center for Rural Youth Entrepreneurship and Environmental Development, with assistance from the Federal Government, organises RYSA. UNCDF, UNIDO, and EU serve as funding partners. With the goals of creating income-earning opportunities, quelling youth restlessness, discouraging rural-urban drift, and boosting the local economy, the programme is designed to bring skill acquisition programmes to the rural youth population. The target youth population is made up of young people from rural communities in Nigeria who are native-born and in need of basic business start-up skills.

Step 1-Complete the online application

Interested candidates should Complete and submit the online application form, which will require confirming their registration with a valid email address then setting up your contact information. This will also involve uploading the electronic versions of the following documents:

Documents Required

Please wait for 10 to 15 minutes if you do not receive the verification email, then log in using your registered email address and password. Uploading files greater than 500kbs will prevent them from being processed.

1.   Passport Photograph: must be with white background and must be in jpg or png format only.
2.   Local Government Certificate of Origin: must be in jpg, png or pdf format only.
3.   Birth Certificate or Sworn Afidavit of Age Declaration: must be in jpg, png or pdf format only.
4.  Means of Identification: This should be either of the following; NIN , Voters ID , Drivers License , International Passports. These also must be in jpg, png or pdf format only.

Step 2-Select a Skill-set/Enterprises/Ventures:

Candidates are required to select one preferred Skill-Sets/ Enterprises below for training and empowerment with RYSA.

9 Aluminium Profiling 6 Months
10 Welding 6 Months
11 Fashion Designing 6 Months
12 Solar Works 6 Months
13 Auto Mechanic 6 Months

Step 3-Motivation/Personal statement

Interested candidates must fill out the online Motivation/Personal Statement form. This should highlight your motivations and reasons for applying to the RYSA Training and Empowerment Programme, as well as how the knowledge you will acquire should you be chosen will benefit both you and your rural community.

Step 3-Proficiency Skill Test Enrollment & Guarantors

To register for the proficiency exam, candidates can click the Enroll for Proficiency Skill Test option (charges may apply). Please be aware that the competence skill exam is required of all candidates and that enrollment is required. In the following round of the selection process, the exam will be delivered online depending on the skill-sets chosen. It is suggested that candidates take the practice exam. To finish the application process, RYSA Nigeria applicants must fill out and submit the guarantors form.

Step 4-Application Summary

Before pressing the SUBMIT button, RYSA applicants should evaluate their applications carefully. Make sure all the information is input accurately and that there are no typos. This might mean the difference between being automatically rejected and being selected for the next round of the hiring process. After careful evaluation, if your application still contains mistakes, please click the Restart application option to start over at Step 1. Please be aware that if you resumed your application, this time with the proper information you corrected, you will need to take the Proficiency Skill Test again again (fees may apply). Once everything has been reviewed and verified to be accurate, you may submit.
