George Wajackoyah biography

George Luchiri Wajackoyah is a Nairobi, Kenya-based attorney who also runs his own political campaign. Wajackoyah ran for president in Kenya’s 2022 general election, which was conducted on August 9, 2022. He was running on behalf of the Kenyan Roots Party, which is in favor of making marijuana legal there. He skipped the 2022 presidential debate, which was held on July 26, 2022, because the debate’s organizers balked at his desired structure, which was for all four contenders to speak at once as opposed to breaking it up into two sections.Wajackoya and Wahiga Mwaure were to square off in the first round, which featured the least popular candidates according to polls, then Raila Odinga and William Ruto in the second. In a statement, Wajackoyah cited the debate’s format as an example of media bias.

He first declared he would run for president in the general elections in 2012, but he abruptly withdrew. Wajackoyah has been an attorney for at least 25 years and is also a founding partner of Luchiri & Co.

Justina Wamae served as Wajackoya’s running mate in the 2022 presidential election.

Wajackoya received only 51 votes at the Indangalasia Primary School polling place in the Matungu Constituency of Kakamega County, while Deputy President William Ruto and Raila Odinga each received 799 and 109 votes.

Early life

Wajackoyah was born in the Western Kenyan town of Indangalasia, close to Mumias. Various sources list his birthdate as 24 October 1959, in Uganda, perhaps in 1960 or 1961, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Jinja (age 63 as of 2022). He is a member of Luhya’s tribe. His mother’s name was Melenia Makokha, and his father’s name was Tito Olilo Jakoya. After his parents’ divorce when he was 16 years old, he was left on the streets of Nairobi as a street boy until a kind person saved him and paid for his secondary school tuition.

Education

George Wajackoyah attended the neighborhood primary school in Busia Township from 1969 until 1975. He completed his O-Levels at the City High School in Nairobi between 1976 and 1979 before moving on to complete his A-Levels between 1980 and 1981.

Wajackoya attended the Kenya Police Training College in Kiganjo after high school and later earned a degree in policing and criminal investigation.
